Coventry celebrates Black History Month with a list of exciting events
Coventry will be celebrating Black History Month with a variety of activities open to the public. There will be exhibits dedicated to the "black story" as well as music and dancing performances to showcase the culture.

The Living Culture Art and Cultural Exhibition, which runs through the end of the month, is a free online event. A digital reimagining of the black history will be curated with the goal of educating the public about the history and presenting young talents who created the event's materials.
For anyone keen on theatre, the Belgrade Theatre will be staging a new play called "Though This Be Madness" from Wednesday, October 20 through Friday, October 22. The play will be shedding light on British youth’s lives and what happens to them in terms of schooling, exclusion, gang grooming, and a pipeline to prison.
The Wava Hall will host "The Drum Circle" on Saturday, October 23. The best African beats and dances will be brought to Coventry for this thrilling event. Audience members will have the opportunity to perform with professional African dance and music groups.
On October 27, Pa Salieu, one of Britain's most intriguing and pioneering young voices, will perform at Kasbah. The next day, October 28, Nabil Abdulrashid, one of Britain's Got Talent 2020's finalists, will do a stand-up comedy show about his "hilarious" life.
The final event of this year's black history month celebrations in Coventry will be the "Afro-Future Festival – "Regenerate" – Looking back to move forward." Participants will be informed about the black legacy and the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement through African music, dance, and theatre.
For the past 30 years, the United Kingdom has celebrated Black History Month, honouring all those of African and Caribbean descent who have contributed to the country's history. Now, the month of October is dedicated to all black people.
