The best movies this Halloween

Spooky season is upon us once again and there’s nothing quite like rsvp’ing no to your friend’s party and kicking your feet up to have the mother of all scary movies marathon. So, grab yourself some popcorn sweet or salty, we won’t judge, and throw on your favourite oodie, and let’s get ready to be freaked.

1). Scream (1996)

Ghostface is one of the most iconic villains to ever grace our screens, nothing more really needs to be said, you will look like his face by the end of this hack and slash horror frenzy.

2). Silence of the lambs (1991)

Silence is the best course of action when watching this, you know you’re in trouble when you must go and ask an imprisoned Hannibal Lecter to help, scream but no noise will come out if you watch this terrifying movie.

3) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

A family of cannibals and a group of mates, I wonder what could go wrong there. Originally marketed as a true story, Luckily for the people of Texas it was not

4) The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

It’s the ultimate cult movie. The first. The biggest. The one cult movie to rule them all. For more than 40 years, The Rocky Horror Picture Show has defined what we mean by a ‘cult’ movie, though few can ever hope to match its phenomenal level of ritualised worship. It has since grossed over $170 million worldwide and holds the record for the longest continually running movie release of all time. This is sure to get you and your friends up and doing the Time Warp again.

5) IT (1990)

Ahhh Pennywise, the demonic clown has been terrifying children and adults alike since the first onscreen adaptation in 1990, to the movies released a few years ago, but be warned you’ll float too.

6) Halloween (1978)

Michael Myers, try and name a more iconic Halloween character I dare you, whether it’s the original or one of the many sequels that have been made since, it is sure to give you your horror fix.

7) Hocus Pocus (1993)

There’s nothing more that can be said about Hocus Pocus, a family friendly comedy about three Salem witches is just what the pumpkin ordered, and with a newly released sequel there’s no better time to jump into the world of the witches.

8) Smile (2022)

New for this year this movie is taking the world by storm, you still catch it in cinemas and have the fright of your life tonight.

9) Friday the 13th (1980)

Who doesn’t love a man in a ski mask, especially when he has a knife, well that’s exactly what you’re going to get with Friday the 13th, as Jason Voorhees terrorizes the poor protagonist and usually ends up with a mask covered in blood, shame as it’s a nice mask.

10) The Shining (1980)

No horror list would be complete without The Shining, probably the most loved Horror film, and the second Steven King adaptation to feature on our list. Fright night has never been so scary when Johnny’s around.
