Storm Babet takes over the UK

England have placed 116 flood warnings including East Midlands and along the River Severn. The Environment Agency have said more flood alerts are likely for the worst-affected areas despite already having severe flood warnings.

So far, four people have died due to the floods- two in Scotland, one in Shropshire and one in Derbyshire. 1,250 properties in England have been flooded.

A local councillor has said, Residents of Brechin, could be permanently removed from their homes.

Traffic Scotland have said: “We have pulled together information to help you plan your journey. This includes the Traffic Scotland Radio service where you can listen for regional and national updates and live traffic information which includes live incident updates.”

Many places have opened up as a rest centre for people who need it, like Retford Leisure Centre in Nottinghamshire.
