The catalyst for these protests lies in the heart-wrenching daily battle between Israel and Hamas, a war that has impacted the 2.2 million Gazan population in numerous methods. Headlined with the outrageous loss of life, during the past 200+ days nearly 35,000 Gazan civilians have been killed by Israel. The complete destruction of over 75% of Gazan infrastructure, hospitals, homes, schools, mosques, and churches, seems to be whitewashed with news of IDF’s attempts in freeing the Israeli hostages.
