Coventry’s pop-up ice rink returns just in time for Christmas celebrations

Coventry’s Cathedral Ruins will once again be the site for the city’s much-loved pop-up ice rink, from Friday 26th of November – back by popular demand.

The ice-bound activity is open to anyone over the age of five and welcomes all abilities of skaters and will be open for both daytime and evening sessions.

You can get your feet on the ice for as little as £5.00, which includes all equipment hire – so the falls are worth the fun!

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer on ice or someone similar to Bambi in the rink, there will be an atmosphere of joy and happiness all around.

After working up an appetite on your skates, a range of hot drinks to clench and cakes to enjoy will be available should you so wish.

And for those that are worried about falling over, balance support aids in the form of penguins are available to hire to provide more comfort.

If you’re not a fan of gliding around the rink, spectators can witness the excitement from the sidelines – surrounded by a plentiful display of Christmas decorations and lights, to add to the festive atmosphere.

The makeshift venue is part of Coventry’s City of Culture events that are taking place throughout the year, to celebrate being crowned the UK’s City of Culture for 2021.

Tickets are selling out fast – so make sure to secure your place for this special event to avoid disappointment!
