M42 crash - Fifteen taken to various Hospitals

A total of 15 people was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the M42. Three people were taken to hospital in Coventry and six to George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton. Nottingham University Hospital took three patients, so did Queens Hospital in Burton-upon-Trent in Staffordshire.

The incident occurred on Sunday 30th October 17:30 GMT, between the southbound carriageway of junctions 11 and 10 in the late afternoon. The severity of the incident caused West Midlands Ambulance Service to send four ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance critical care to the accident.

 

Also, East Midlands Ambulance Service sent three ambulances to the scene due to both sides of the carriageway had to be closed.

 

Crews discovered multiple vehicles had collided with a large amount of patients.
