Statement on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

On Thursday, September 8th 2022, the sad news came that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away at 96 years old. She was lovingly surrounded by her family members in Balmoral. With 70 years on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch in British history.


She will forever be remembered for her steadfast loyalty to the British public and her charitable spirit. For many people, the monarch was a symbol of British values and tradition. In a world that is rapidly changing from when she was first crowned in 1952, the country has experienced many tragedies. Queen Elizabeth II was a constant beacon of hope for the nation. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee brought together hundreds of thousands of people to celebrate her reign. She was committed to the United Kingdom and wanted peace across the nation. In 2012, a historic moment occurred when Queen Elizabeth II shook hands with former IRA commander Martin McGuinness.

Queen Elizabeth II proved to be a very philanthropic person throughout the 70 years she was on the throne. She donated to over 600 charities, Military associations, public service organisations, and educational institutions. All of these organisations have benefited greatly from her compassion and her dedication to their work. It has increased awareness for them and enabled support for the vital work that needs to be done in the UK and around the world.
